Objective

To improve stormwater drainage at various locations throughout the village.

Description

The base bid for this project consists of all work associated with stormwater and drainage improvements at the Ellsworth Ditch south of North Avenue and Ridge Road between Westmore Avenue and Roy Drive. The project will also include two alternate bids for all work associated with stormwater and drainage improvements at Third Avenue & Vermont Street (Alternate 1), and 205 S. Yale Avenue (Alternate 2). Project improvements include the installation of approximately 1,200 linear feet of storm sewer varying in size from 6" to 18" the installation of manholes, inlets and catch basins, ditch shaping and regarding, pavement and driveway removal and replacement, earth excavation, combination concrete curb and gutter removal and installation, parkway restoration, sidewalk removal and replacement, and other related and incidental work.

Justification

The village has determined these areas are in need of improvement based on resident testimony and on-site surveying and analysis.

August 11, 2025A pre-construction meeting was held this week. The Ridge Road project is expected to begin the Week of September 1, 2025. Only the Ridge Road portion of the project has been awarded. All other locations are on hold until they can be funded.
May 23, 2025A bid opening was held this week. The apparent low bidder is Mauro Sewer Construction, Inc., of Des Plaines, IL. 
April 25, 2025After revisions, the Ridge Road portion of the project has been advertised for bidding, with alternates for additional locations. A bid opening is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
January 10, 2025All previous bids have been rejected, and the project has been re-advertised for bidding. The project title has changed to 2025 DCEO Drainage Improvement Project. A bid opening will be held January 28, 2025.
