This project is a portion of the larger Sugar Creek Watershed Drainage Improvement Project. This project includes:
- Michigan Avenue Improvement Project (Madison to Jackson) (2018)
- Jackson Pond Overflow Project (2019)
- Jackson Pond Outlet Project (2019)
- Jackson Pond Expansion Project (2022)
- Jackson Area Improvement Project (2024)
Objective
To reduce the likelihood of flooding during storm events by separating and expanding the storm sewer system. To improve the condition of the roadway by means of selected pavement rehabilitation methods.
Description
This project consists of roadway improvements on Addison Avenue from Madison Street to Washington Street, Wisconsin Avenue from Jackson Street to Washington Street, and Madison Street from Addison Avenue to Michigan Avenue. The project includes the installation of storm sewers. Some selective water system and sanitary sewer system improvements are also included.
Justification
The sewer separation and storm sewer installation will reduce the likelihood of flooding in the area. The Village's pavement management program has determined that the condition of the streets have deteriorated to the point that pavement rehabilitation is needed. This project is to be partially funded by voter approved bond proceeds.
