In observance of the Christmas Holiday, all nonemergency village offices will be closed Friday, December 23, through Monday, December 26. Reopening on Tuesday, December 27. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Winter Weather Reminders

• Public Works is responsible for snow and ice removal within Village limits except for North Avenue, Roosevelt Road, IL. Route 83 and Villa Avenue north of North Avenue

• Snow plowing begins after the accumulation of two inches of snow

• No parking on streets until all snow is removed or overnight parking

• Public Works does not routinely salt secondary streets unless warranted due to icy conditions

• Snow removal from driveways and sidewalks are resident’s responsibility

• Snow removal from commercial parking lots and sidewalks are owner’s responsibility

• Do not place, shovel, push, plow, or otherwise cause snow onto public streets or public sidewalks

• Drive slowly and use caution

• Do NOT drive too close or attempt to pass snowplows

DuPage Warming Centers

Winter weather is upon us. If you lose your heat unexpectedly, several agencies throughout DuPage County serve as Warming Centers. Availability may change at some locations, so call ahead to verify space. There will not be a weekly report next week, but we will have a report the following week to cover the two-week time. For all who celebrate the holidays of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Diwali, Las Posadas, or other holiday I have missed, I hope you have a joyous holiday season.
